All this talk about calendars and months, I figured we should know what the seasons are called. “Season” itself is فَصل (faṣl).

• winter = شِتاء (shitāʾ)
• spring = رَبيع (rabīʿ)
• summer = صَيف (ṣayf)
  
• autumn = خَريف (kharīf)
